Fundraiser to Support One for Everyone Project
Club Wonder, a program of Opportunity Enterprises, is hosting a fundraiser for the “One for Everyone” project on August 30 at the Oasis Splash Pad in Michigan City. The One for Everyone project is an all-inclusive playgroup initiative for Northwest Indiana. The group’s goal is to provide one playground that every child can use, and one piece of special needs playground equipment for every park.
2nd Annual Be the Link 8K Run and 5K Run/Walk
Please join us at Sunset Hill Park on Saturday, August 31st at 6:00pm for a fun 8K Run and 5K Run/Walk to help raise funds for NeighborLink Porter County. NeighborLink is a non-profit organization that invites Porter County residents and organizations to seek free assistance from their neighbors for basic home maintenance and repairs. Prizes will be awarded for age groups and there will be various giveaways!

Chicago Street Theatre Presents The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother
Chicago Street Theatre is bringing families a Popcorn Festival treat with their production of The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother by Bruce Coville. In this enchanting story, based on Coville’s popular children’s book, Maybelle Clodnowski, a bubbling fairy godmother, has just messed up her 47th assignment, and is given just one more chance to keep her wand and her wings.
Chuck Steck and the North America Brass Co at Bethany Church
Chuck Steck and the North America Brass Co. will host an evening of brass music from jazz to classical, broadway to movie classics. A free will offering from the evening will go towards Heroin Awareness Project, part of Worthy Recovery.

The Michiana 5k is a fundraiser for the Michiana Shores Volunteer Fire Department, Michiana Shores IN that will take place on August 31 at 8am. Start/End location is the Michiana Shores Firehouse.

The Game at Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Michigan, City, Indiana, has kicked off a new menu of hearty game-day favorites with a twist. Slated for a September 1 debut, the inventive new menu includes appetizers, soups, salads, hand-tossed pizzas, build-your-own mac and cheese, specialty sandwiches, gourmet burgers and hot dogs, house specialty entrees and desserts.
2nd Annual Folds of Honor Heroes Concert
The Friends of the Folds of Honor 2013 Community NWI invite you to the 2nd annual Salute to Heroes Concert. The show celebrates NWI's dedication to protection and freedom. At 7pm on August 31, 2013 at Central Park Plaza the concert will begin with a fireworks display afterward. All proceeds go directly to Fold of Honor Foundation to provide educational scholoarships to children whose soldier parent was killed or severely injured in action.
Paws Resale Shoppe Moves to Kennedy Ave
PAWS Resale Shoppe is having a sidewalk sale at their new store location on Saturday, August 31 from 10am to 4pm. Items include various home goods and décor and will be marked at close-out prices. All proceeds from the store benefit the animals at Humane Society Calumet Area in Munster.
