The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Around The World Gala on Saturday evening. Indiana's community leaders and citizens came to honor the outstanding efforts of educators, police officers, firefighters, and more who served our community with the highest integrity.
To extend their thanks to the Northwest Indiana community, Albert’s Diamond Jewelers opened its doors as they kicked off the 2018 holiday season at the 24th Annual Customer Appreciation Gala. Albert’s clientele was invited to join in the fun as Albert’s offered their friends-and-family discount to all those attending the gala.
Dressed to impressed, attendees of the 2018 Winter Gala and Charity Benefit for the Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana showed their tremendous generosity as the HBA raised funds for the Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana and Porter County.
The HBA of NWI, a not-for-profit trade association of builders and associated industry professionals, recognizes the important work that Habitat for Humanity of NWI and Porter County has on the Region and supports their efforts to get members of the community inside livable homes. 100% of the proceeds from the Winter Gala went directly to these organizations.
The energy was high Friday night at Chesterton High School as members of the CHS Music and Drama department prepared for their debut fall musical performance, “The Sound of Music”. Ironically, the original Broadway production of “The Sound of Music” opened on November 16, 1959.

The Lakes of Valparaiso and Wise Guys Liquors joined forces to offer the public a fall flavored wine tasting event. As the snow blanketed the ground outside, the event acted as the perfect opportunity to ‘wine’ down at the beautiful Lakes of Valparaiso Clubhouse.
An assortment of hats was spotted Wednesday morning at the Duneland Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Hatta Girl, a celebration of local women. From fedoras to berets, the hats were as diverse as the women wearing them. Tea was enjoyed from ornate china cups, and guests listened to inspirational messages from four amazing women. The heartfelt messages were as warm as the tea as the panelist discussed the art of juggling life as a modern-day woman.

The City of Crown Point and American Legion Post 20 Become Veterans and Community to the 2018 Veterans Day Ceremony
On Sunday, the Crown Point community gathered to honor one of our country’s most important and solemn holidays, Veteran’s Day. American Legion Post 20 partnered with the City of Crown Point to host a ceremony within the iconic Old Courthouse to recognize the service and sacrifice of veterans across the country.
On Saturday, Beatles fans from across the Region gathered under the stars in Zao Island’s newest venue, the Greenhouse. They enjoyed a performance by one of our region’s premiere supergroups - the MegaBeatles, a Beatles tribute band composed of members from the CrawPuppies, the Chris and Lou Band, and Ed Reinhold.
On Saturday morning, Christmas shopping began early at Portage High School as members of the community enjoyed shopping from 120 local vendors all while supporting a great cause: Hannah’s Hope. There was something for everyone with diverse booths for shoppers and enjoyable activities, like a gingerbread house building contest for kids. It was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, with a strong sense of community and a ton of fun.
