Munster Mustangs Esports Team Places 2nd in Rocket League Nationals Competition

Munster High SchoolMunster, Indiana, June 14th 2018. The Munster Mustangs Esports Rocket League team placed 2nd in the HSEL Nationals tournament. The team advanced from a 16 team field to find their way to the finals losing to Christopher Columbus High School from Miami FL.

The Munster Mustangs went 39-4 for the year placing 1st in the Holiday Majors, 2nd in the Spring Majors, 3rd in the Fall Majors, 4th in the Winter Majors.

The Munster Mustangs Rocket League team is in its inaugural year along with other esports teams in League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone and other various games. They have partnered with High School Esports League (HSEL) to play against 900+ high schools across the United States and Canada.

Esports, where gamers play video games in competition with others, have grown to a big spectator events, driving big companies such as ESPN, Activision Blizzard, and Electronic Arts to form esports divisions in recent years.
