Crown Point High School Softball Ranked One, Five In Two National Polls

C7D 2263Thanks in part to strong pitching from Miranda Elish and Alexis Holloway, who combined for seven shutouts in Crown Point High School (CPHS) Softball’s first eight games, the Bulldogs recently cracked the top five in USA TODAY’s national top 25 rankings and moved to number one in MaxPreps’ Xcellent top 25 poll.

Since the 8-0 start CPHS has remained hot on the diamond, allowing only one run in each of their last two games, a 7-1 win over Portage and a 15-1 win over Chesterton, bringing their current record to an undefeated 10-0 on the season.

Their 9-0 record in the Duneland Athletic Conference (DAC) puts the Bulldogs two games ahead against their second and third place competitors, Chesterton and La Porte.

The Bulldogs have two non-conference games against Homewood-Flossmoor (IL) and Lakeshore (MI) this weekend, before resuming DAC play against rival, Lake Central, on Tuesday.
