KV Football Wins Three Straight Heading into Homecoming Showdown Against Griffith

A Friday storm canceled the August 29 Kankakee Valley game with the Kougars up against the visiting Manual High School from Indianapolis. But before lightning was spotted, KV had a 21-0 lead in the first quarter of the game. When the lightning was finally out of range, it was 9:30 p.m. and Manual decided to call it a game due to their long journey home.

A week later, at an away game against Lowell, was the traditional "Milk Can" game. The Milk Can is in the shape of a small, old-fashioned milk can, but about a foot or two taller. In 2012, the Milk Can belonged to the Kougars but was lost in 2013. The Kougars were able to get the Milk Can back on September 6, defeating the Red Devils, 17-12.

One week after the nail-biting win at Lowell, the Kougars hosted the Hobart Brickies, surrendering a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. But, in the end, the Kougars brought home a win, 40-27.

KV's next home game is Friday, September 19 against Griffith. This is the Homecoming Game, so the announcing of the winners of the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced along with all the other participants on the Homecoming Court.
