IU Northwest to Host A.I.I. Conference Women’s Basketball Championship Feb. 23-25, 2018

IUN-AII-Conference-Womens-Basketball-Championship-2018Indiana University Northwest is hosting the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament on February 23-25.

The games will take place in the Savannah Center Gymnasium, on the north end of the IU Northwest campus, located at 3400 Broadway in Gary, Ind., conveniently accessible from I-80/94.

Five teams from across the nation will join the IU Northwest women for the three-day tournament. The two teams advancing to Sunday’s championship game will receive direct qualifying bids to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa from March 7 to 13.

  • 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25

IU Northwest hosted the A.I.I. Tournament in 2010 and 2011 when they captured their first two conference championships and earned their first two NAIA National Tournament appearances. The RedHawks advanced to the A.I.I. title game last season and earned an automatic bid to the 2017 NAIA National Tournament. IU Northwest women’s basketball is currently ranked No. 4 in the A.I.I. Conference.

Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 for the general public (adults) and $5 for children under 12 years of age. Students, staff and faculty members of IU Northwest can purchase an all-session three-day pass for $5 with a valid IU Northwest ID.
