Purdue Calumet to Host Youth Clinic January 17, 2015

PUC-PeregrinsHead Coach Heather Tarter and the Purdue University Calumet softball team will be holding a three separate clinics at the Fitness and Recreation Center on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Clinics include a Youth All-Skills Camp for children in grades 2-8, a Youth Pitching and Catching Clinic for children grades 2-8, and a High School Pitching and Catching clinic for teens grades 9-12.

Descriptions and prices for each camp are listed below.

Heather Tarter led the Peregrines to a stellar 28-8 record in sports’ inaugural season in 2014. The year included an 18-6 mark over future Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents* and a 5-3 record against the CCAC’s top four teams in 2014.

During the 2013 fall season, the squad also picked up a huge upset, defeating NCAA Division I Purdue University West Lafayette 2-1 in dramatic fashion.

*Purdue Calumet played its inaugural season as a nonleague opponent. The Peregrines are a full-fledged CCAC member beginning in 2015.

Youth All-Skills Camp
Saturday, Jan. 17
Time: 9:30 a.m. to Noon
Ages: Grades 2-8
Cost: $50
Additional info: Please bring own glove and bat, if possible. Limit space to 50.

Youth Pitching/Catching Clinic
Saturday, Jan. 17
Time: 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Ages: Grades 2-8
Cost: $45
Additional Info: Catchers, bring own gear. Pitchers provide a catcher, if possible. Limit space to 25 pitchers and 25 catchers.

High School Pitching/Catching Clinic
Saturday, Jan. 17
Time: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Ages: Grades 9-12
Cost: $45
Additional info: Catchers, bring own gear. Pitchers provide a catcher, if possible. Limit space to 25 pitchers and 25 catchers.
