The Rock 'n Rail 5K will take place in Griffith on August 30. Start time for the third annual 5K Run/Walk will be at noon at the Griffith Family YMCA, 201 N. Griffith Blvd.
The scenic route will go through downtown Griffith, Central Park and Bike Trail.
One-hundred-six total awards will be given, including those for top overall male and female finishers, overall masters (male and female) and first, second and third place finishers.
Some of the area's best live bands will perform immediately following the race.
Great food vendors and children activities will be available in addition to a free beer in the beer garden following the race to those 21 and older.
To register, go online to the Griffith Family YMCA homepage or signup in person at the YMCA. Download the race app at www.griffithymca.org and mail in to the Y's address.
Those registered by August 16 will be guaranteed a shirt.
