The Physical Therapy program aims at improving mobility through techniques and exercises to relieve pain. Therapy helps regain strength and flexibility, is good after hip, knee or other surgery, and is sued in treatment for degenerative disease and in loss of movement situations. Occupational therapy is used to help patients partake in daily activities. At Lincolnshire, the staff will assess and evaluate individuals on daily living activities, design a customized plan to achieve goals, and then evaluate over time on the patients’ progress. Speech therapy is recommended for patients who have difficulty swallowing and communication. Again, the staff go over individual assessments and evaluations to check progress and goals. For speech therapy, treatments are given for receptive and expressive aphasia, which means difficulty in understanding and communicating verbally to others, Dysphagia, Bell’s Palsy, vocal cord damage and injury, and any other problems in tone, pitch and quality.

- Motorized Omnicycle Smart-Assist: This device senses physical limitations and provides assistance when using. The training levels are determined by the machine based on the user’s ability. The machine helps with stroke recovery, joint replacement, arthritis, and neuromuscular re-education. The device improves the therapy for neuro, ortho, and cardio rehabilitation, by providing biofeedback and spasticity control. The machine works with a wheelchair, includes an integrated heart rate monitor and is voice activated.
