The Northwest Indiana Breast Care Center at Methodist Hospitals Holds 2016 Go Pink Open House

Every year in October hundreds of women across the country gather to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year was no exception at Methodist Hospitals’ Northwest Indiana’s Breast Cancer Center in Merrillville. Close to 100 women gathered for breakfast and a day of pampering that included mini facials, chair massages, manicures, and healthy smoothies. Every woman that scheduled a mammogram received a free pink bracelet as a gift of health. Since Go Pink was the theme pink mums were raffled off to celebrate the upcoming fall season. Door prizes included a $500 gift Basket to State of Mind Salon and Day Spa in Crown Point, a Mary Kay gift box, a Breast Cancer Awareness Gift Basket and a basket from Intrigue Salon & Day Spa in Dyer. It was truly a day of pampering and education about breast health awareness.

Dr. Bharat Barai, Medical Director of the Oncology Institute, and Stacy Knox, RN, Breast Care Nurse Navigator were present to answer any questions attendees had. The Breast Care Center recently received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award for the third consecutive year.
