WHAM Ride at Wolf Lake Park on August 2, 2014

WHAM-RideBring out your 2-wheelers, tricycles or unicycles and join us for the third annual Whiting Hammond After Midnight Ride. Enjoy a ride through Hammond and Whiting's beautiful neighborhood bike paths and city streets. Start and end at Hammond's iconic Wolf Lake Pavilion. Ride along the majestic shores of Lake Michigan and the tranquil shores of both Wolf Lake and George Lake. See firsthand Hammond and Whiting's spectacular parks and neighborhoods, ride through historic Downtown Whiting, pass Oil City Stadium and cross a one-of-a-kind bike bridge that links the two communities. New in 2014: go at your own pace-it's not a race.

Don't think you can handle 30 miles on a bike? Just do our new short route option.

Day-of registration is from 9:30-11:30 p.m. All riders must check in at the Wolf Lake Pavilion prior to 11:30 p.m. The ride kicks off at midnight (technically August 3). Riders will enjoy a 30 mile scenic route. It will take 2-4 hours on average to complete the long route. The short route shouldn't take longer than 60 minutes. Enjoy a rest stop at the halfway point, sponsored and hosted by Cabela's Outfitters.

Advanced reservations are recommended. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Live entertainment starts at 9:30 p.m. There will also be giveaways and breakfast. It will be great time for all! Contact whamride@gmail.com for more information.
