St. John Parish Angel Tree a Blessing for St. Clare Health Clinic Clients

St-John-Parish-Angel-Tree-a-Blessing-for-St-Clare-Health-Clinic-ClientsMembers of St. John the Evangelist (Catholic) Parish in St. John recently donated a treasure trove of holiday gifts for clients of St. Clare Health Clinic in Crown Point. Parishioners contact the clinic in early October, asking for a wish list, which is put on the angel tree at the church. Congregation members take it from there, providing numerous items to make the holiday brighter for the less-fortunate. St. Clare is among 10 organizations the parish supports.

Shown, from left, are Carrie Honeycutt, clinic medication program coordinator; parishioners Dennis Miklaszewski, Larry Santori and his wife, Sue Santori; Debbie Jordan, clinic nurse; and Julie Mallers, clinic family nurse practitioner-manager. Established in 1996, St. Clare, which is under the auspices of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point, provides free primary health care and other services for area residents who fall within established income guidelines, are uninsured and are not eligible for government assistance. Donations may be brought to the clinic, 1121 S. Indiana Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, call (219) 663-2160.
