Poetry, Films and Popcorn at the Miller Beach Arts & Creative District
The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District is hosting Poetry, Films and Popcorn. Celebrate NATIONAL POETRY MONTH at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts - 540 S. Lake Street, Gary IN. Hear live poetry, see a film and eat some popcorn - all for only $10. Buy your ticket at the door. 

Portage High School Spring Musical Into The Woods
The Portage High School Thespians Drama Department is proud to announce their Spring Musical Into The Woods! Based on the Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, the Tony award winning Into The Woods has delighted audiences young and old since premiering on Broadway in 1987. Join our talented cast of 22 PHS students as they bring to life characters we all know and love. Watch as Jack battles Giants, Cinderella finds her Prince, the Witch casts spells and Little Red Riding Hood escapes the clutches of the Big Bad Wolf! 

Feast from the East at Valparaiso University
Valparaiso University's Asian American Pacific Islander Coalition (AAPIC) is hosting Feast from the East on April 22nd at 6pm in the Christopher Center Community Room (VU Library). The annual Feast from the East event features different cuisines from across Asia, arts & crafts, karaoke, bubble tea, and other special events held throughout the night.

Michigan City Area Schools Student Art Exhibit
Impressive in both quality and quantity, this striking display of art and fine crafts includes 2-D and 3-D pieces by kindergarten through 6th grade students. Created in the art rooms of the Michigan City public elementary schools, this exhibit features a number of art media including paint, clay, chalk pastels, and paper.

Franciscan Alliance Kids' Safety Day
Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point and the Southlake YMCA will offer a free Safe Kids Day event from 9 a.m. until noon April 23 at the YMCA, 1450 S. Court St. 

Taltree Arbor Day Festival and Plant Hero 5K
Join us for a day celebrating trees and nature! Activities will be located throughout the whole arboretum so you can see more and do more among the diverse collection of trees that call Taltree home. 

Portage YMCA Healthy Kids Day
Healthy Kids Day is all about building “SUPER” kids! That means keeping kids active in mind and body all summer long. Start the “SUPER” habit at HKD on April 23 from 3pm-5pm. 

911 Slugfest Returns to Hammond Civic Center
Make A Wish welcomes 911 Slugfest Police and Fire Charity Boxing Event to the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 Sohl Ave. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 starting at 6:00pm. Reserved Seating Tickets are $30 or $35, General Admission $10, Kids 12 and Under $5 and are available at the Civic Center Box Office or at www.ticketfly.com.

Kiwanis Club of La Porte All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast
Spring into the annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast sponsored by Kiwanis Club of La Porte! The event will take place on Sunday, April 24th from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Indiana National Guard Armory, 2391 W. State Road 2 in La Porte, IN. We'll be serving up hot pancakes, sausage, and eggs with a selection of your favorite refreshments- hot and cold. Come join us! The cost is $7 for Adults and $3 for children. Wine & Canvas: Dandelion Trio
Wine and canvas paint party, painting "Dandelion Trio." All supplies are included, along with step-by-step instructions, while Lori paints along with you. Wine tasting, or glass of wine, is also included in the price. Running Vines has many delicious wines to choose from. Come alone or bring a friend, or several; it's fun!
