Schererville Chamber of Commerce 51st Annual Corn Roast
The Schererville Chamber of Commerce will be holding their 51st Annual Corn Roast. Pandora Rocks will be the entertainment starting at 4:00 - to 8:00 p.m. Schererville's American Legion will be hosting the Beer Garden - last call 10:30 and will have music starting at 8:00. There will be games, contests and lots of family fun! Please join us. 

Duneland YMCA Garage Sale

Taste of Michigan City
This year's event will have well over 20 food vendors from Michigan City and the surrounding area with many new additions from years past; over 15 bands representing many varied genres; locally brewed beer from Burn 'Em Brewing, Shoreline Brewery, and Back Road Brewery; art; and of course the only place in Northwest Indiana that you can watch the racing boats of the Great Lakes Grand Prix parade down the center of Franklin Street in the heart of Uptown Arts District! You will not want to miss this year's event. 

First United Methodist Church of Portage 10th Annual Car Show
This year's car show is the 2015 Feed My Lambs Benefit supporting the Portage School Back Pack Program. This program sends food home with grammar school students who qualify for free or reduced lunches. Show is from 9 AM to 4 PM and is open to all cars and trucks. Registration is 9 to 11 AM. Early donation registration is $15 and day of show is $20. Awards at 4 PM. Cars to be judged by church members and general public.

All are invited to stop by and meet the animals and their caretakers while learning about life on a farm! 

Whiting Mascot Extravaganza
Feeling the back to school blues? Turn those frowns upside down with the continuation of summer fun in Whiting. Grab your foam fingers and rev up your silly string for a Mascot Extravaganza. The fun begins Saturday, August 1st at 1pm in Whiting Lakefront Park. Have a blast on the lakefront meeting NBA mascots from all over the country. High five your favorite furry friends, picnic by the lake and enjoy the famous Acrodunk’s™ extreme dunking talents and so much more! 

Touch-a-Truck Event at Portage Market on the Square
The Portage Parks Department is hosting a touch-a-truck event at Portage Market on the Square on Sunday, August 2nd, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Portage Fire Department, South Haven Fire Department, National Lakeshore, Chesterton Fire Department, Lake County Helicopter, Craft booth by Woodland Park Preschool, Various food and craft Vendors, Bounce house by Bounce N Around, performance by Oscar and the Majestics at Noon, and more. 

Sharing Meadows Leprechaun Hunt
Sunday, August 2, 2015, 33 Leprechauns will hide with their pots o’ gold in the fields of Sharing Meadows in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Father Dennis Blaney, President of the Share Foundation, invites families and friends to hunt for the Leprechauns and win cash prizes up to $1,500! This year marks the 21st annual Leprechaun Hunt; the festivities start at noon and last until 6:00 p.m. 

Lakeshore PAWS Dog Wash and Fun Fest
Come on out to get your dog washed, his or her nails clipped and have some food and fun in the process all benefiting Lakeshore PAWS. 

Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club Babapaloosa Music Festival
Join the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club will host "Babapaloosa", an all-day music festival, at Sunset Hill Farm County Park on the corner of US 6 and Meridian Rd., Valparaiso, IN. There will be 6 amazing bands, local food vendors, a beer garden, silent auction, kids' fun area, and a motorcycle show and benefit ride. The Rotary Club is seeking volunteers that are willing to participate in ticket sales, event set up, event clean up, water or soda sales or the children's area. The volunteer opportunity is broken up in two-hour shifts but volunteers who wish to work longer are welcome.
