2015 K9 Unit Fundraiser at Culver's of Schererville
Join us Saturday May 16th, from 10:30 am-10:00 pm, as we support our Schererville Police K9 Unit. Culver's of Schererville will donate 10% of sales to help with expenses to feed, train, and care for the K9 Officers. We are accepting any monetary donations that will then be given to the K9 Unit as well.
2015 Walk to End Lupus
On May 16, 2015 be part of a literal movement to find a cure for lupus. Join hundreds of walkers for a day of fun, food, friendship, and celebration of those who are making strides to find a cure. Registration begins at 10:30am and the walk begins at noon. The route will take you through the Lake County Fair Grounds and you can choose from a 1 mile route or a 5k (3.1 mile) route. A minimum donation of $15 dollars is required per person (ages 13+). Those 12 and under can walk for a $5 donation. Walkers are encouraged to accessories, wear purple, and get creative with their clothing. Click here to register!
2015 Spring Out to Sunset Festival
Every year, Porter County Parks and Recreation celebrates the transition from the cold, harsh Northwest Indiana winter to the beautiful spring and summer months with the Spring Out to Sunset Festival! This festival serves as a gathering of hundreds of region residents celebrating all the outdoor fun that summer in the parks has to offer. This year, the festival will take place on Saturday, May 16th, 12-4pm at Sunset Hill Farm County Park.
Portage Fire Department Bicycle Safety Day
Join the Portage Fire Department on Saturday May 16 at Willowcreek Middle School for Bicycle Safety Day from 1-4 PM. The event will feature a variety of fun and exciting events for kids, all aimed at teaching them the importance of wearing a safety helmet when riding their bikes.
Running Vines Winery Musical Performances
Mark your calendar for two musical performances this May at Running Vines Winery. First, on May 16, Angelo Cicco will wow us with some great guitar music. Be ready for great tunes, great wine, and great food. The event begins at 6pm at Running Vines Winery in Chesterton.

Bob Evans of Michigan City is hosting a Community Fundraiser on behalf of LaPorte County Habitat for Humanity on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Patrons who dine in or carryout between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. and present a flyer at checkout will have 15% of their total donated to LaPorte County Habitat.
Valpo Free Car Show
Mario Alvarez is putting on another big car show at the Porter County Fairgrounds and it’s being sponsored by non-other than Region Rides! The Valpo Car Show & Swap Meet is scheduled for May 17th from 9am to 2pm and is expecting to bring out car enthusiasts from around the region. “When we did this show last May we had over 200 cars participate,” said Alvarez. “We expect a similar size if not more at this years’ outing.”
Princess for a Day Fundraiser
We will be hosting a PRINCESS FOR A DAY fundraiser to raise money for our team! The girls will take part in a fun-filled day of princess dresses, hairstyling, manicures, dance lessons and Princess refreshments! They will then all have a crowning ceremony and an opportunity to have their picture taken with the Princesses.
