Go see a show at the Portage 16 IMAX! 
There are some great movies you can see at the Portage 16 IMAX this weekend, like Taken 3, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, Unbroken, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death and more!

Go Ice Skating in Michigan City! 
The Michigan City Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission and Michigan City Mainstreet Association, announces the opening of the Michigan City Community ice skating rink. The 80’ x 130’ skating rink is located on the corner of 5th and Pine Streets. There is parking available along 5th Street and a parking lot on the corner of 6th and Pine Streets. The ice rink is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm. The rink is lit daily from dusk to 10 pm. There is no charge to skate but you must bring your own skates.

Ruff, Tuff & in the Buff 5k at Taltree Saturday, January 10, 2015 
Go EXTREME with our January run/walk. This 3.1 mile (5K) trail course runs through woodlands, wetlands and prairies. Event begins at 9 am on Saturday, January 10. This is the first race of the 2015 XYZ Trail Series. The first 150 participants registered receive a Buff Neck Gator.

The Star Plaza Theatre Presents Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular on Saturday, January 10, 2015 
Get them before they're gone! 1/2 price tickets are available on Goldstar only to see Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular this Saturday. The very best Elvis entertainers in the world pay a tribute to the greatest entertainer of all time Saturday January 10, 2015 at 8pm at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville. Shawn Klush, Cody Ray Slaughter, Ryan Pelton perform famous songs from The King and they are joined by DJ Fontana and The Sweet Inspirations, Elvis' back-up singers. The entertainers are backed up by The Blackwood Quartet and the Fabulous Ambassadors Band.

See "Comics and Code" at Lubeznik Center for the Arts Before It Closes! 
Comics & Code explores the contemporary relationships between words and images through comic illustration, objects and animation. Exhibiting artists are Turtel Onli (co-curator), Juan Arevalo, Jun Ogasawara, Paul E. Schultz, Corey Roc Bottom Davis, Philo Barnhart, Sean McGuinness, Cory Hamscher, Gina Wynbrandt, and Arie Monroe.

Have Family Fun at JAK's Warehouse! 
Whether you are looking for family fun or a date night destination JAK's Warehouse has something for you. The Warehouse attractions include: arcade games, laser tag, laser maze, go-carts, bumper cars, sky trail, mini-golf, and an indoor playground with foam ball play of all kinds. Enjoy almost 100 of the newest arcade games like a touch-screen Fruit Ninja and giant Connect Four.

Dunes Learning Center Winter Open House 
This free event offers families a variety of fun indoor and outdoor activities led by the Dunes Learning Center’s team of knowledgeable naturalists. Guided hikes, nature crafts, face painting, an indoor campfire sing-along and a winter fashion skit that will teach children how to dress for winter fun are planned. Amateur musicians are welcome to bring their instruments to jam around the indoor campfire. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served.

Rocky Horror Picture Show 
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 musical comedy horror film adapted from the popular musical stage play scripted and composed by Richard O'Brien. The film is a tribute to the science fiction and "B" horror movies of the late 1940's through the early 1970s. Still in limited release 37 years after its premiere, it has the longest-running theatrical release in film history. And you can be a part of the fun -- Help Me Mommy, NWI's own Rocky Horror shadow cast, performs every Saturday at midnight at The Art Theatre in downtown Hobart, Indiana!

Come out for a guided hike on showshoes! You will learn a little bit about snowshoes as they have developed over the years and enjoy the great scenery found only at Sunset Hill Farm. Our snowshoes fit ages 12+. Registration Required.
