The Portage High School Thespians Present Twain by the Tale 
Join 35 talented PHS students as they bring Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, Jim and Twain himself to life in this charming presentation of Twain by the Tale! Performances are Friday & Saturday, November 21 & 22 at 7:30 pm, with a matinee Sunday, November 23, at 2:30 pm at the Portage High School East Auditorium. Tickets are only $7! The Munster Theatre Company Presents its Fall Musical Production, "The Secret Garden" 
The Munster Theatre Company (the Performing Arts Department of Munster High School) is pleased to present the musical inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel, THE SECRET GARDEN, with book/lyrics by Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon. THE SECRET GARDEN will run Thursday, November 20; Friday, November 21; Saturday, November 22 at 7pm, and Sunday, November 23 at 2pm in Munster Auditorium. Tickets are $7 at the door (senior and student tickets $5). Dyer Parks & Recreation Hosting 14th Annual Holiday Shopping Spree & Craft Show 
Dyer Parks & Recreation is having their 13th Annual Holiday Shopping Spree & Craft Show on Saturday, November 22nd from 10am-3pm at Kahler Middle School (600 Joliet St., Dyer, IN). Over 100 crafters and home based businesses will be on hand displaying their products and services.

5K Run, Walk, & Roll Saturday, November 22nd
Hosted by the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel, and Spa and sponsored by IU Health - LaPorte Hospital, the 5K Run, Walk & Roll will be held on November 22nd at 9:00am. All race proceeds go to the LaPorte County United Way to benefit families of LaPorte County whose children are receiving care at Riley Children's Hospital. City of Gary to Mark Thanksgiving with 2nd Annual Gospel Concert 
On Saturday, November 22 at 12 p.m., a Thanksgiving Gospel Concert will be held in downtown Gary at the Genesis Convention Center featuring a host of local groups and soloists. The cost is $10, which will be collected at the door and all proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. Following the concert at 3:00p.m., a food basket distribution to more than 500 families will take place.

Duneland Area Exchange Club Set to Host 3rd Annual Wine Tasting 
The Duneland Area Exchange Club is preparing to host their third annual wine tasting on Sunday November 23, 2014 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton. Vendors from the area will feature many beer and wines available to sample and purchase. Several varieties of delicious hors d'oeuvres will be served to compliment the beverages.

2014 Lights Festival Brings Dazzling Holiday Fun to Porter County 
This Saturday, November 22 will mark Northwest Indiana’s largest holiday festival, Winter Lights Night. This festival hosted by Porter County Parks & Recreation, has been a tradition in Porter County, featuring a myriad of dazzling light displays, holiday activities, special guests and entertainment, and all capped off with an amazing fireworks display. These lights will turn on for the first time this weekend, with the event kicking off the season on Saturday, November 22, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Sunset Hill Farm County Park, 775 Meridian Road in Valparaiso. The cost for the event is only $5 per car load.

Harbor Lights and the Memorial Opera House Take You Back to the 1950’s 
On the afternoon of Sunday, November 23, Northwest Indiana’s own Harbor Lights will bring their unique 1950’s doo wop vocal style to the Opera House stage once again. “Like the Opera House, our music is historical,” George Carl, spokesperson for the group said. It is the Genesis of “Rock n” Roll”. Early artists from this period in time had a tremendous influence on future superstars like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and The Beatles.”
