ACM New Artist of the Year Cole Swindell to Perform at Newton County Fair

Cole SwindellCountry Music Association-nominated artist and Academy of Country Music Awards’ New Artist of the Year winner, Cole Swindell, will be the headlining music performance during the 96th Newton County Pun’kin Vine Fair.

Swindell released his self-titled debut album last year on Warner Bros. Records. The album features Swindell’s latest single, “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey,” along with his first two consecutive No. 1 singles as a solo artist: the gold certified hit “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” and the platinum certified smash “Chillin’ It.”

Named Music Row’s Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year for 2014 and one of Billboard’s Top New Country Artists, Swindell’s celebrated songwriting credits also include hit songs such as “This Is How We Roll” for Florida Georgia Line, “Get Me Some of That,” the No. 1 single for Thomas Rhett, several songs with Luke Bryan including his latest No. 1 single “Roller Coaster,” among others. His debut hit “Chillin’ It” was named one of the most played songs on country radio in 2014, racking up almost 1.3 million sales of Swindell’s 2.5 million total tracks sold.

Swindell will take the stage in front of the grandstand and bring his special brand of country music to the South Shore beginning at 8 p.m. CST on Tuesday, July 14. Tickets for the performance cost $38, and can be purchased online at www.newtoncountyfair.com.

In addition to live music entertainment, the Newton County Pun’kin Vine Fair brings seven days of family fun and entertainment to the Newton County Fairgrounds. Beginning on Monday, July 13, fair attendees can also enjoy 4-H competitions, food vendors, amusement rides, exhibits, motor cross racing and more.

Prior to the official start of the fair, attendees can view the open class beef show, open swine show and Standardbred horse races on Saturday, July 11. On Sunday, July 12, attendees can experience a live performance by Christian rock band Into the Light beginning at 7 p.m. CST during Church Night.
