Gary to Host Final Drive-In Movie Night for the Season at Marquette Park Sept. 5

City-of-GaryThe City of Gary will host its final Drive-In Movie by the Lake of the season Friday, Sept. 5 at Marquette Park Beach parking lot. The cost is only $10 per car and $15 for Vans and SUVs, moviegoers will enjoy the film “X-Men”. Gates at Marquette Park Beach open at 6:30p.m. with the film starting at dusk.

This clever idea was the brainchild of Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson and initially launched last year.

“We are happy to bring family entertainment to our residents and those who want to come and visit our beautiful parks,” said Freeman-Wilson. “Its’ a fun, affordable night out for the family with Lake Michigan as a beautiful backdrop.”

In order to deliver the full drive-in theater effect, there will be vendors selling movie snacks. There will also be an inflatable fun area where children can play until the movies begin. Attendees will be able to tune in to the film using their car radios.
