The Towle Theater Welcomes the Chicago Sensation, Rita Rose

ritachristmasshowThe Towle Theater is proud to welcome Rita Rose for a one-night engagement on December 18th. Rita Rose is the alter ego of singer/actress Rachelyn Primm. She has been performing all over Chicago with her Rockabilly Cabaret Show. For the Holiday Season, she has created a Holiday Themed Rockabilly Cabaret Show. The Rita Rose Show stars the 1950s darling, Rita Rose, who shares stories of her transition from showgirl life in NY to living in Chicago, her quest for love, and even life tips. She sings the music of the fabulous ladies of 1950’s Rockabilly as a celebration of their work in addition to her own original songs written in a similar style.

Rita Rose was inspired by the role of Rita in White Christmas after Rachelyn played the role in a production directed by Ron Chisholm in North Carolina. She loved the role so much and saw that she was a huge hit with the audience, so she chose to write that darling doll as a character that could star in her own show.

The show has been described as “A delightful combination of music and comedy lights up the stage as we are magically transported to the late 1950's and treated to a refreshing spin on the music of the season with a flavorful twist of Rockabilly. You won't be able to stop your toes from tapping to the tunes as only the lovely and incomparable Rita Rose can belt them out while her wit and wisdom keeps you smiling from start to finish.”

The performance is Thursday, December 18 at 8pm. General Seating begins at 7:30pm and the box office opens at 7pm. Tickets are only $17. Children under six years of age are not permitted in the theater. You won’t want to miss this "Rock Boppin' Holiday Treat".

Free, well-lit parking is available off of Fayette Street only steps away from our back entrance or in the parking lot directly across the street from the theater on Hohman Avenue.
