PAWS Resale Shoppe is having a sidewalk sale at their new store location on Saturday, August 31 from 10am to 4pm. Items include various home goods and décor and will be marked at close-out prices.
The grand opening of PAWS Resale Shoppe’s new location is Friday, September 6 at 10am. Get great deals on gently used home furnishings including all framed art at 50% off. All proceeds from the store benefit the animals at Humane Society Calumet Area in Munster.
The move takes PAWS from its old location on Jewett Street in Downtown Highland. The smaller store lacked space for donated items and provided inadequate parking for customers and donors. The increase in space allows for more items on display and increased support to the humane society. The larger parking lot provides ample parking and the potential for on-site animal adoption events.
A small space located next to the resale shop will provide corporate office space for shelter administrators. The shelter’s staff has grown in recent years with the creation and expansion of services such as low-cost spay/neuter and behavior programs. This expansion has left staff and volunteers competing for less and less space. The new space will provide room for further development and growth.
Executive Director Rachel Delaney said, “We’re excited for the new opportunities in the community and to give back to the animals.” Several new community programs are in the works and will be announced in the coming months.
