Each weekend we bring you 10 Fun Things to Do in Northwest Indiana so you are never without something to do! This weekend looks to be filled with fantastic fall fun with an outdoor concert at Taltree, a brewfest in Hobart, and fundraisers aplenty!

Indiana University's Another Round Vocal Band Concert on Friday, September 19 
Another Round remixes modern pop and oldie musical favorites into vocal-only melodies. Another Round has played to sold-out crowds throughout the Midwest. It's sure to be a night not to miss! Concert begins at 6:30 pm. All proceeds power Taltree's restoration, conservation and education initiatives. Concert will be held in our newest venue - The SideTrack.

Celebrate the Harvest of Hope: A Farm to Fork Culinary Tasting Experience 
On Friday, September 19th, Harmony House/CASA is hosting the 20th annual tasting event - “Celebrate the Harvest of Hope” A Farm to Fork Culinary Tasting Experience. This year’s event will feature local farmers partnering with local chefs to create a farm fresh taste of La Porte County for all who attend. All of the participants will be donating their skills, food, coffee, wine, beer and spirits to raise funds for Harmony House/CASA.

Kelly’s Cure 5K Run & Walk to Support the McCammon Family Medical Fund 
In December of 2010, Kelly McCammon was diagnosed with a brain tumor on her pituitary gland and Cushing’s Disease. An estimated 10-15 out of every million people develop Cushing’s Disease. Most of these are women. Often times, these individuals suffer for years without a diagnosis. A 5K Run & Walk will take place at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. The event will begin at 8:00am. There will also be an inflatable bounce house, DJ, and food. All proceeds will be donated to Kelly’s Cure McCammon Family Medical Fund.

Four Fathers Brewing Fall Fest & Jenga Tournament 
On Saturday, Four Fathers Brewing will have another fun day planned at the brewery with special release German Style beers, Oktoberfest inspired foods courtesy of our friends at Hungry, INC and an adult sized (not your typical tabletop style) Jenga Tournament. We are planning to have 16 two-person teams and the tourney will be bracketed NCAA style. We will start at noon and go until there is one team "standing". And there will be prizes for the winner and runner up!

Out of the Darkness Community Walk Set for September 21 
The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is September 21st. Registration, check-ins, and extra donations will be taken the day of the walk from Noon-12:50 pm. It's in Chesterton, IN at Coffee Creek Watershed preserve. There will be music, food, drinks including free bottled water for walkers, a bounce house and silent auction. Groups will be there to provide support and info too.

Take Part in Family Day with Around the Table 
The Portage Township YMCA, Valparaiso Family, Duneland Family YMCA, and Union Township Middle/High School will each host a Family Day picnic and game day on September 21st from 2-4pm at their locations. This event is an opportunity created by the "Around the Table" initiative and it is meant to brings families together through food, fun games, and conversation.

City of Hobart Special Events & Parks Department to Host Hobart Brews & Blues on September 20  
Hobart Brews & Blues event welcomes local breweries from Indiana and beyond to our beautiful Festival Park on Lake. General admission begins at 3pm with several breweries serving unlimited samples of their product and food available for purchase. The VIP ticket experience gives craft beer lovers access to the event one hour earlier (2 p.m.), exclusive VIP craft beer selection and food pairing menu prepared by Chef Scot Hinkel from 54 Main Bistro in Hobart!

2014 Hospice Hustle set for September 21st 
Sunday September 21, 2014 marks the 10th anniversary for the Hospice Hustle. Hospice Hustle 2014 is a peaceful ride of either 25, 62 or 100 miles through rural southern Lake County Indiana. Proceeds benefit non-profit Hospice of the Calumet Area, serving Northwest Indiana and surrounding Illinois communities since 1981. Your support helps us continue our mission to provide care to those facing life-limiting illness.

Fine Arts September 21st Piano Recital 
The last program of the Fine Arts Board of the Presbyterian Church of La Porte will feature duo pianists Edgar Swarthout and Andrew Remillard, who will be bringing their grand pianos for the concert, Sunday, September 21, at 4:00 p.m.

Merrillville Walk to End Alzheimer's 
The Merrillville Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21, at Hidden Lake Park, located at 6355 Broadway. Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than a walk. It is an experience for more than a 1,000 participants in Northwest Indiana who will learn about Alzheimer's disease and how to get involved with this critical cause, from advocacy opportunities and clinical trial enrollment to support programs and services. In addition to the Walk, participants will enjoy a special tribute to those who have experienced or are experiencing Alzheimer’s.
