Annual Crossroads Golf Outing is a Hole in One

A little rain couldn’t stop the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce from holding their Annual Golf Outing on a cloudy Thursday. With a buffet lunch before teeing off and dinner and cocktails to end the night, golfers were sure to enjoy their day spent at Innsbrook Country Club.

Upon arrival, golfers were greeted with a large lunch spread, gift bags, and complimentary cigars. Played in a scramble format, participants teed off at noon. Beverages were also served out on the golf course. There was a chance to win $10,000 as well as putting for $100. Golfers could also try putting into a Port-O-Potty for prizes at the first hole.

As Tracy McMahon, Co-Chair of the event, explained, “The Chamber golf outing is always a great event. It really gives businesses in our community a chance to get out and meet other professionals in such a relaxed and fun setting. This event would not be such a success without the support of our sponsors and volunteers.”

Sponsors of the day included: Franciscan Alliance, Bryco Services, Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, Nipsco, Ryland Homes, The Times Media Company, Core Construction, Puntillo & Crane Orthodontics, The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, Calumet Breweries, Carstar, and D&L Wood Product, Inc.

While enjoying his lunch, Michael White, golfer at the event, said, “This is the largest chamber in Northwest Indiana. It is directed to help small businesses, large businesses and is concentrated on improving the economy and the schools and making this a great place to live. This is my first year at the event though I’ve been part of the chamber for eight years. Great networking here gives me the excuse to get out of the office for the day.”

Dave Lasser, another golfer at the event, said, “I’ve been coming to this event for 25 years. It’s a ton of fun and a great way to support the chamber. It’s the largest chamber in the area so there’s always a huge participation and it’s just a great networking event.”

With 143 golfers, eighteen holes, and one goal: to enjoy the day, everyone at the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce’s golf outing had a wonderful time.
