Round up your family and friends for Whiting’s Great American Picnic and Birthday Party on Saturday, July 12th from 11 am - 4 pm. Wish the City of Whiting a Happy Birthday by joining in on summer games, fun picnic foods, Radio Disney Chicago Road Crew™, and a live remote broadcast. All of the excitement will happen right in Downtown Whiting along Historic 119th Street. Also, don’t miss out on a delicious piece of the City’s giant birthday cake.
The Whiting/Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce has planned the perfect summer afternoon for you and your family. Red and white checkered picnic tables will line 119th Street as local businesses host a number of competitions such as Pie Eyed’s delicious pie eating contest and, of course, a watermelon seed spitting contest at Center Lounge. With face painting, balloon tosses and more, kids are sure to have a blast. Enjoy a picnic of amazing summer foods such as Winey Beach Café’s mouth-watering burgers, roasted corn on the cob from CJ’s Café and Whiting’s giant birthday cake for dessert.
The City and Whiting/Robertsdale Chamber have teamed up with Radio Disney Chicago™, who will be powering the event from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. Radio Disney Chicago Road Crew™ performers will bring family-fun, dancing and music to the picnic. Directly following, from 1 pm – 3 pm will be a live broadcast of all the action as well as music by Radio One Communications station, 107.1 the Z.
