The event, which begins in Charlotte, NC, and ends in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., will attract more than 4,500 cars. All makes and models of hot rods, street rods, custom trucks and street machines will be along for the ride.

The tour will begin rolling into the Lake County Fairgrounds by 2:00 p.m., but local car enthusiasts and spectators are welcome to register their hot rods beginning at noon. Admission to the event is free and cars can be registered on-site for the day for $30.

At each stop of the tour, a colorful midway of mobile display rigs from more than 50 performance manufacturers and aftermarket specialists will offer participants and spectators a chance to view the latest innovations and receive expert advice.

During the event, motorsports celebrities will sign autographs for fans and the main stage will host entertainment, celebrities, games and dozens of giveaways. Drivers will be able to test their vehicle's torque and horsepower on the Lucas Oil Dyno Challenge, fans can meet "Miss HOT ROD" at the S.E.M.A. Action Network Display and car enthusiasts can stop by Chevrolet Performance to see their showcase of Chevrolet Hot Rod history alongside the modern muscle of Chevrolet's current line of performance cars including the '14 Corvette Stingray and Camaro ZL1.

The Hot Rod Power Tour is a boon to the economies of each of its tour stops. Hotels, restaurants, bars and more will play host to the tour’s participants.

"We're thrilled to host day five of the 2014 Power Tour in Crown Point," said Speros A. Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority.
