Organizations, Associations Learn to be “Bring It Home Heroes”

iwc-theatreThe South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, in partnership with Radisson Hotel Star Plaza, will be hosting the annual Bring It Home Hero Ambassador Reception on Tuesday, April 22 at the Radisson Hotel Star Plaza.

The ambassador reception invites members from associations and organizations to learn about creating a positive economic impact in their community by bringing meetings and events home to the South Shore.

According to Speros A. Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore CVA, meetings and events help support businesses and create jobs along the South Shore.

“The economic impact created by events hosted in the region trickles down,” said Batistatos. “By educating our local association and organization representatives, we have the opportunity to attract new events and conventions.”

The 2013 Bring It Home reception explained the benefits of working with the South Shore CVA on meetings, conventions and sporting events to representatives from 17 different organizations and associations. Throughout 2013, Bring It Home Heroes and their events generated more than $850,000 in estimated economic impact, while various meetings, conventions and sporting events contributed more than $2.9 million in estimated economic impact to the South Shore.

“The services offered by the South Shore CVA range from transportation assistance and lodging to signage and welcome bags,” said Kristen Thomas, director of sales for the South Shore CVA. “We can work with meeting and event planners to ensure an exceptional experience for their attendees.”
