The Duneland Family YMCA will once again host Dancing Like The Stars on Saturday, November 9th at Duneland Falls Banquet Center. The festivities will start at 6:00 pm with dinner and dancing performances. Tickets will go on sale to the public on October 7th at the Duneland YMCA, 215 Roosevelt St. in Chesterton.
2013 Stars include Nancy Veselica, Annmarie Riley, Mike Anton, Kyle Yelton, Nancy Sutton, Rick Lewis, Jacci Moore and Laura Gerhardt. These local celebrities have been paired with professional dance partners from the Fred Astaire Valparaiso Ballroom. The contestants are being outfitted in extravagant costumes, and they'll be dancing to win your votes!
There are three ways contestants can win a prize: the Judge's Choice Award, determined by a panel of three professional dancers, the Big Bucks Award which will be won by the contestant who raises the most money for the event; and the People's Choice Award, which is number of "votes" received by each celebrity. Votes can be purchased for $5 each by contacting their contestant of choice. Voting closes at the event after all contestants have performed.
Every vote cast raises money to support the Duneland YMCA Family Assistance Program that helps to guarantee that no qualifying applicant will be turned away. The Duneland Y believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone regardless of age, background, ability or income. So please help Duneland's celebrities as they dance to ensure a brighter future for those in need of assistance.
