As the summer is setting in, Whiting is gearing up for a whirlwind summer, filled with exciting events and developments in the city. In July Whiting will kick off its summer events including: 3rd of July Fireworks, the famed 4th of July Parade, Symphonies in the Park, Pierogi Fest and a long list of other activities.
Many of the events in Whiting are long-standing and known all over the Midwest, such as Pierogi Fest and the 4th of July Parade. The city puts in great effort to prepare for these events and provide the respective groups, that run the events, support in a number of ways.
In addition to these events, Whiting holds weekly Farmer’s Markets (Saturdays 8am-2pm), in front of City Hall, with exhibitors from Indiana and Illinois. All products are fresh and available when in season. For the car lovers, check out Cruise Night, sponsored by the City of Whiting. Cruise Night takes place every 3rd Wednesday of the Month until October. Listed below are upcoming events for the summer season.
