Plenty of Flavors to Savor with South Shore CVA’s Savor the South Shore

Get in on the most delicious event in the region! The 2nd annual “Savor the South Shore” promotion is fast approaching and from February 22 to March 6, 2016, select region restaurants will be offering specially priced lunch and dinner menus for their guests’ dining pleasure. That’s 14 days of food fun, two weeks of dining delights, and hours and hours of extra excellent eating.

“Like everything we do Savor the South Shore is family-friendly. It allows local residents to get out and experience restaurants in ways that they could not before, maybe trying a new dish or a new establishment,” Speros Batistatos, President and CEO of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority said. “For us there is value in it because visiting friends and relatives is one of the number one drivers for people to travel in Indiana. When they take the family out in their town or come and visit family in the South Shore we can make sure that our people are representing the region in the best way possible.”

Nearly 30 restaurants are participating this year in Savor the South Shore. They range from cozy cafes to bustling bar and grills to fine dining destinations. There are many repeat restaurants who took part in Savor the South Shore last year and there are some new faces to add to the growing list of participants.

"We thought taking part in Savor the South Shore was a great way to showcase what Sage has to offer," Sage Restaurant owner and executive chef Joseph Gaal said. "People who might not come here otherwise can learn about us and this will let them know that we have a great culinary scene here in Valpo. Also, it's a great way to be part of the diverse dining community."
