‘So You Wanna Be a Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ The photography of Bobby Talamine, who has spent more than 40 years taking candid shots of popular and oftentimes iconic musicians in performance, is on display in the Library-Student-Faculty Building, Room 02.

Photos featured in this show include Sir Paul McCartney; Bob Dylan, sporting a rare smile; Eric Clapton; Roger Waters of Pink Floyd in a dramatic shot from “The Wall;” the late Leonard Cohen; Gene Simmons of Kiss; Madonna; and Lady Gaga.

“I have to be as unobtrusive as possible, so I don’t disturb the intense concentration of the artists at work, but I’ve been honored to get to know many of them,” Talamine said of his work. “They are all brilliant, highly original and often provocative; it shows in their work. Also the challenge of getting photos in real time is complicated by intense lighting, bold stage design and sometimes pyrotechnics without warning.”

‘Structured Abstraction’ This selection of Tom Brand’s works is featured in the Technology Building Lounge on the building’s first floor. Brand, a noted region artist and art activist, has produced art for more than 40 years. His studies in shape and rich color are more than expressions of active abstract brushwork, as evidenced by his pieces, Razzle Dazzle, Bartok and Last Resort. Brand refers to this as “Structured Abstraction,” a description of contemporary art in the 21st century.

Gallery 144 This exhibit of contemporary works, comprised largely of new acquisitions from gifts to PNW, is displayed in the Library-Student-Faculty Building, Room 144. Gallery 144, features 20 pieces, 13 of which have been donated by William and Susan Kleinman of Indianapolis, who wanted to share their passion for fine art with students and the PNW community.

Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex Additional art is on public display throughout the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activity Complex.
