Bison-tennial Art Project – Call for Artists

lakemichiganIn partnership with Indiana Association of United Ways and the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, South Shore CVA will be participating in the Bison-tennial Public Art Project, taking place across Indiana to celebrate Indiana’s 200th Statehood Day. This project will comprise of a 5-foot-tall fiberglass bison that will be decorated and displayed with at least one bison in each county along the Torch Relay route.

The South Shore CVA is seeking professional or amateur artists, art classes, arts organizations and other to submit proposals to serve as the Bison-tennial Artist for Lake County. Applicat will ideally reside in or have a connection to Lake County. The deadline for submissions is Feb 29 and an artist will be selected by a committee by March 15th.

The fiberglass bison are 5 foot tall and 8 foot long and weigh approximately 100 pounds. The South Shore CVA is offering a commission to the artist(s). The project is intended to generate excitement and engagement in the local community.
