galleryshopLubeznik Center for the Arts annual Lakefront Art Festival call to artist deadline is March 31. The application fee is $45. Artists must apply online through Zapplication. Categories accepted include: 2 dimensional art, fine craft, jewelry, photography, sculptural objects, and wearable art. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by April 24. The Lakefront Art Festival will be held on August 15 (10 AM - 6 PM) and August 16 (10 AM - 5 PM) on the lakefront in Washington Park, Michigan City, IN. Over just 100 exhibitors will be accepted into the festival and there will be $3,000 in cash prizes awarded to participating artists.

Now in its 34th year, the festival attracts thousands of shoppers and art enthusiasts to Michigan City's lakefront Washington Park. This high-quality, juried event draws repeat visitors from Chicago, South Bend and Northwest Indiana, as well as Michigan's nearby 'Harbor Country' communities. Patrons to the festival include second home-owners in the nearby beach communities. In 2014, over 4,000 visitors attended the festival. A major fundraiser for LCA, the festival is overseen by arts professionals with friendly and helpful staff and volunteers who are committed to making it a success. Over $30,000 is budgeted to market the event through partnerships that span radio, TV, print and outdoor media. Proceeds benefit LCA exhibits, outreach, and education.
