For the second year in a row, a group of 15 local Allstate Agents came together to support St. Jude House as a part of their Helping Hands in the Community campaign.
Organized by Eric Miller, an agent based in Crown Point, this charitable group of men and women arrived at St. Jude House with wheelbarrows, rakes, and other equipment in hand, their goal being to transform the grounds of St. Jude House. The group worked all day to tidy up the grounds, trimming shrubbery, re-mulching the children’s playground, and providing the garden with some much needed tender love and care.
Cleaning up the grounds was a great and much appreciated service to St. Jude House, however the acts of kindness and model volunteerism of these Allstate Agents didn’t end there. Eric and his crew also contributed to St. Jude House on the inside, helping to re-organize one of the client rooms known as the “Sharing Room”. This room serves as a makeshift clothing store for clients, and is filled with donated clothing items and accessories that can be used for their best interests. All clothes are organized by size and age group. The Allstate Agents also took on the task of polishing up the Children’s Play Room, and by the end of their day at St. Jude House both rooms were thoroughly washed, cleaned, sorted, and organized.
St. Jude House cannot thank these Allstate Agents enough for participating in this Helping Hands cleanup. They have made a difference for St. Jude House for the second year running, and their selflessness has not gone unnoticed. St. Jude House hopes to continue building a relationship with the Allstate Helping Hands group, and looks forward to working with them again in the near future.
