Munster Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Applications Deadline September 15, 2017

Munster-PoliceThe application deadline for the Munster Police Department's Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Program is THIS FRIDAY, September 15th at 4:00pm. Applicants must be Munster residents, 21 years of age or older, and complete a selection process. Applications can be picked up or turned in at the Records window of the police department, located at 1001 Ridge Road in Munster, Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

VIPS are non-armed civlian volunteers who assist with a variety of duties ranging from assistance in Records, directing traffic, vehicle tows, funeral escorts, vacation checks, and general patrol of neighborhoods and business districts in a marked VIPS patrol vehicle. The Munster Police Department will provide training, uniforms and equipment to residents who complete the selection process.
