Meals on Wheels Has Volunteer Opportunities; November Trainings

Meals-on-WheelsInterested candidates are invited to attend our Volunteer Orientation and Training Session at the Meals on Wheels Community Room, 8446 Virginia Street in Merrillville. A one-hour session will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m., and Thursday, November 20, at 1:00 p.m. Applicants will have an opportunity to tour the facility and ask questions.

As the winter holidays approach, volunteers are looking for ways to make a difference. Why not volunteer to deliver meals in your community? We are currently searching for drivers/delivery volunteers in the Hammond community. We have 8 routes in Hammond and you could assist us on a route of your choice. Each day, volunteers assist in the delivery of more than 1,200 meals throughout Lake County. According to Joan Vith, Volunteer Manager, “volunteers during the winter months are in great demand. “

To register for training, or for more information on individual or corporate volunteering opportunities, contact Joan at (219)-756-3663, or email joan@mownwi.org
