Every year, NorthShore Health Centers holds a back to school fair. Kids who attend can get a discounted service of a $25 school physical, sports physical, or an immunization. It depends on what the kids need at the time.
On top of the discounted services, NorthShore gave away backpacks filled with school supplies. This year, NorthShore ended up giving away more backpacks than any other year prior to this.
"We gave out the most backpacks we ever have by a landslide; Almost double what we did last year,"Tricia Hall, Director of Marketing & Patient Relations, said. "It's NorthShore's way of helping out the community."
NorthShore was able to provide over 2,624 backpacks to students, passing last year's amount of 1,100. Also, Outreach Coordinators from NorthShore went to Portage and Lake County school registrations and gave out 1500 backpacks that were sponsored by Anthem and MHS.
