Helping others, especially those in less fortunate situations than ourselves, is of vital importance to our communities. In Northwest Indiana there are plenty of deserving charities and organizations, but not all work as selflessly as St. Jude House. Perhaps their unwavering dedication to those in need is why they are once again included in the NWI Raffle!
The raffle offers community members a chance to win, all while helping a worthy cause. Tickets are currently being sold for $100 each and will continue to be available through Monday, August 27th at 9:30PM. The big day comes on August 30th, where 50 cash prizes will be announced to some lucky winners, including the first place prize of $100,000!
While a chance to win is part of the fun, it’s important to remember why this raffle is so important to the community. St. Jude House and the Crossroads YMCA will each benefit from the proceeds, and each has their own unique way of implementing the funds.
For St. Jude House, this fundraiser represents a chance to do good in the community and a way to fund vital resources. In their efforts to serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as their children, the organization is always in need. Since 1995 they’ve served nearly 12,000 victims and now see more than 400 adults and children each year.
Proceeds from the fundraiser help provide school-required clothing to children, transportation to employment opportunities for those seeking help, funding for their 24-hour service on the Crisis Line, and therapeutic services for children in their care.
