Lake Central Lady Indians Basketball Collects Donations for St. Jude House

stjude-slam-dunkCommunity organizations like St. Jude House rely on donations and volunteers to thrive. Receiving necessary supplies and the extras that make life a little more enjoyable is not always a simple task for shelters and other nonprofit organizations.

St. Jude House is lucky enough to have a champion in the Lake Central Lady Indians Basketball Team. This isn’t the first time the basketball team has supported St. Jude House, and their Slam Dunk for St. Jude House events are becoming increasingly popular.

“These young women are champions of healthy relationships and we’re proud to have their support,” said Val Lay, Director of Development for St. Jude House.

To aid the shelter, donations are being accepted at each home basketball game, including those upcoming on December 13th and 15th. Donations can be dropped off at Door A at the Main Entrance.

Donations being accepted include laundry soap, toys, books, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, socks, adult and children’s pajamas, and gift cards. All donations will be given to St. Jude House, which serves as a domestic abuse shelter. They work to provide resources, care, and support for women and men who need assistance. Each item is capable of aiding a family in need, and giving a little bit of joy to those seeking aid at the shelter.

Through this support from the Lake Central Lady Indians, St. Jude House is able to aid more people and gain the necessary supplies for their work.
