South Shore Clean Cities Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve and revitalize northern Indiana by promoting the use of clean fuels and clean-vehicle technologies, on July 15 will host an educational event on biodiesel and ethanol.
The session will take place 9-11:30 a.m. CDT at the Purdue Technology Center, 9800 Connecticut Drive, Crown Point, Indiana. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. Reservations can be made at http://www.southshorecleancities.org on the events page or by calling 219-644-3690. The program is part of the Green Fleet Education Sessions, which are held the third Wednesday of each month through November.
Carl Lisek, executive director of South Shore Clean Cities, said the July 15 event will offer attendees an opportunity to connect with vendors offering alternative fuel vehicles, equipment and conversion systems, and to learn how to improve a vehicle fleet's carbon footprint. This networking event will explore a variety of alternative fuel vehicles.
"As society increases its use of biodiesel, ethanol and alternative fuels, it is important for the general public and government leaders to be updated on clean-vehicle technologies," he said. "This is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to be able to network and learn about advancing fuel technologies in northern Indiana."
The South Shore Clean Cities Green Fleet Education Sessions provide a connection to exchange ideas, ask questions and build strategic alliances with the green industry. Insight about current and upcoming grant opportunities will be available along with resources on current laws and incentives.
South Shore Clean Cities officials also lead Purdue Research Park-based Legacy Environmental Services Inc.
