RDA President Addresses Lake Area United Way’s Vanguard Leadership Circle

RDA President and CEO Bill Hanna addressed Lake Area United Way’s Vanguard Leadership Circle members during “Breakfast with The Vanguard” on December 4th at the RDA offices in Crown Point. Mr. Hanna showcased the RDA’s accomplishments to date and made a strong case for continued state investment in the organization.

Guests at the event included representatives from law enforcement, labor, financial services and education. Vanguard member George Vande Werken, Regional President of Providence Bank, commented, “What I have appreciated about LAUW’s Vanguard program, aside from networking opportunities and potential business connections, is the effort to expose Vanguard members to important community resources and to provide direct access to community leaders like Mr. Hanna.” He added, “These learning opportunities allow Vanguard members to be not merely contributors who financially support a wide array of community service organizations, but, also to be better informed about their community -- and therefore to become better advocates and better leaders.”

“The Vanguard” is Lake Area United Way’s program that focuses on donors who give at the Leadership level. Members are invited to attend exclusive after-hour networking “Fifth Thursday” events scheduled throughout the year, as well as “Breakfast with the Vanguard” events featuring high-profile speakers from the region who share their insights on various professional and personal development related topics.
