City of Crown Point to Host Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 5th

The Crown Point Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary will present its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday October 5th, 2014 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Crown Point Fire Station, 126 N. East St. Fire Prevention week is October 5th-11th this year, with the theme “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month!”.

Hot dogs, chips, popcorn, beverages and desserts will be available at the open house, which is open to the community. Learn how to protect your family from fire in the EDITH (Exit Drills In The Home) Trailer and view an exciting vehicle extrication! Kids will be able to take a look inside the fire trucks and ambulances and participate in hands on activities. There will be fire truck rides available, they can try on fire gear and go home with handouts. Coloring contest winners from local elementary schools will be announced and receive prizes. All coloring contest participants’ work will be displayed for viewing. Bring your family out to the fire department on October, 5th for a fun and educational day!
