Five Lowell Troopers Honored at Awards Ceremony

Indiana-State-Police-logoFive troopers from the Lowell District were honored recently at an awards ceremony held at the Government Center in Indianapolis.

Troopers Brian Henderson, Gary Runde, Jacob Raupp and John Holmen were presented O.W.I. awards for their efforts in removing impaired and intoxicated motorists from Indiana’s roadways in 2012 and 2013.

Trooper Brian Henderson was recognized as the top trooper in the state in 2012 with 188 impaired driving arrests. He was also in the top five for the state in 2013 with 87 DUI arrests. Henderson is assigned to work Lake County.

Trooper Gary Runde was recognized as one of the top five troopers in the state in 2012 with 123 impaired driving arrests. Runde is also assigned to Lake County.

Trooper Jacob Raupp was recognized as one of the top five troopers in the state in 2013 with 109 impaired driving arrests. Raupp is assigned to Porter/Laporte Counties.

Trooper John Holmen was also recognized as one of the top five troopers in the state in 2013 for 94 DUI arrests. Holmen is assigned to Lake County.

The Lowell District “Trooper of the Year 2013” award was presented to Master Trooper Aaron Trammel, a fifteen year veteran of the department, for achieving outstanding enforcement efforts in the areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigations, public information programs and community service; and for exemplifying the professionalism and integrity expected of an Indiana State Trooper. Trammel is also a K-9 Officer. He and his K-9 partner Rykr are assigned to work Newton/Jasper Counties.
