A LEGO® Christmas Story House is Coming to Hammond

iwc-theatreA LEGO Christmas Story House is coming to Hammond Dec. 2 & 3 during “A Christmas Story” Comes Home’s A Major Event and Holiday Market. The creator, Jason Middaugh, and his family will bring his LEGO® prototype of the yellow house on Cleveland Street for display in hopes to get 10,000 supporters for the project.

Middaugh created the prototype for LEGO® Ideas last year. If an idea submitted to the website gains 10,000 supporters, it stands a chance of being produced as an official LEGO® product. Middaugh designed the Parker’s house from “A Christmas Story” and has gained more than 8,300 supporters. He has also created additional “A Christmas Story” themed sets for fun. Middaugh will display all of his sets at the Indiana Welcome Center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 2 and from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 3.

Visitors can vote for the “A Christmas Story” themed LEGO® house during Middaugh’s visit or from their home computers at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/156866. A free LEGO® ID is required to prevent duplicate voting.

The “A Christmas Story” Comes Home exhibit is free and open to the public and runs through Jan. 7, 2018. A Major Event and Holiday Market will also take place on Dec. 2 at the Indiana Welcome Center and includes free train rides for families, local vendors, FLICK Bingo, photos with Santa and more. Learn more about the exhibit online at www.achristmasstorycomeshome.com.

The Indiana Welcome Center is located at 7770 Corinne Drive in Hammond, just off I-80/94 and Kennedy Avenue South.
