A free shuttle service will be provided for overflow parking. Guests can park in the Homestead Athletic Complex, 8071 Kennedy Avenue in Highland from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Both events are at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond on Dec. 3. A Major Event, complete with a number of children’s activities, will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The family-friendly Holiday Market will “pop-up” in the parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Santa will be atop his mountain from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. to take photos for $6 each. Attendees may also participate in a scavenger hunt and “FLICK” bingo games, decorate cookies for $2 or create crafts for $1. A train will be offering rides throughout the event for $1 each.

The holiday market is the perfect place to pick up handmade and specialty gifts. There will also be hot cocoa and gourmet food items for sale at the market. The holiday market is family friendly.

The A Christmas Story Comes Home exhibit, which is presented in agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, will run through Dec. 31, 2016.
