Munster-High-School-Chorale-to-Perform-at-Carnegie-HallThe Munster High School Chorale, under the direction of Mr. Andrew Robinson, has been honored by the Distinguished Concerts International New York organization with an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, April 28th, 2019.

After submitting a recorded audition, the Mustang Chorale was selected as one of a limited number of ensembles to participate in The Music of Eric Whitacre in the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall under the baton of Eric Whitacre himself. Mr. Whitacre is a graduate of The Juilliard School and a Grammy-winning composer, conductor, and educator. He created the “Virtual Choir” project, which brings together recorded voices from all over the globe to form an online choir.

Mr. Whitacre is considered one of the most important living composers of choral music throughout the world. Munster High School Principal Mr. Mike Wells, upon finding out about the tremendous opportunity, likened it to an amatuer golfer getting to tee up with Jack Nicklaus at Augusta. While in New York City, the Chorale will work alongside a professional production company, and the residency provides a pair of half-day long rehearsals and clinics with Mr. Whitacre - all of which culminates in a performance in one of the world’s greatest concert halls.
