St. Mary’s Students Treated to Traveling Wildlife Exhibit

St-Marys-Students-Treated-to-Traveling-Wildlife-ExhibitOn Friday, May 18th, students at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point were treated to a visit from an organization called “Wildlife Educational Exhibit of Northwest Indiana.” The entire library was turned into somewhat of a museum, complete with dozens of animal mounts that students were able to see up close and to touch.

The owner and president of this traveling exhibit, Timothy Ferguson, says “there are so many wonderful and exciting things just outside in the woods, streams, rivers, beaches, and in your own back yard. We aim to introduce wildlife to youngsters that is just outside their windows.” “The students really loved this opportunity to learn. Education is so much more than what can be found in books,” said fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Kim Hise.
