Musicians from the Bishop Noll band received 14 medals during ISSMA competition Feb. 3 at Munster High School. Students Sarah Chavez, Michael Fugger, Jacqueline Milkowski, Serena Waszkiewicz, Heather Hernandez, Andres Miranda, Carlos Guzman, Javier Miranda, Monica Magallanes, Chris Juarez, Kristopher Rodriguez, Whitney Piggott and Phillip Reyes-Brown competed in the ISSMA state solo and ensemble competition and earned gold, silver and bronze medals for their performances.
The band received national recognition last year when it performed at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn.
“We truly have a college level band program here at Bishop Noll that pushes students to be the best version of themselves they can be while doing the most important thing, which is having fun,” said Rocco Carioto, Bishop Noll band director.
