The Munster Mustangs eSports team wins the Rocket League Holiday Majors

Munster High SchoolThe Munster Mustangs eSports Rocket League team won the Holiday Major in High School eSports League finals. The team advanced from a 16 team field to find their way to the finals beating Washington-Lee High School from Arlington, Texas.

The Munster Mustangs went undefeated during the regular Holiday Season to advance to the top seed in the tournament. They moved on, losing only 1 game in their streak to the HSEL Holiday Season Tournament Finals where they won 3-2.

In the previous Fall Majors Season the Mustangs went 10-2 and finished in 3 rd place. This was the inaugural season for the newly formed Munster Mustang Cavalry and they were just starting to find their footing. They were practicing at least three days a week in hopes of doing better in the next season.

Nathaniel Thompson, sponsor of the eSports teams said “I am proud of our team and their victory and what they have accomplished so far in our inaugural season”.

Ray Hoitsma, Fall Season Captain had this to say “We already knew we would win. We just needed to prove it to everyone”

The Munster Mustangs Rocket League team is in its inaugural year along with other eSports teams in League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone and other various games. They have partnered with High School eSports League (HSEL) to play against 150+ high schools across the United States and Canada.
