Duneland-Schools-Update-2017_02 Liberty Elementary School reveals One School, One Book selection
Liberty Elementary School recently revealed this year's book, The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate, for their One School, One Book (OSOB) program.

Through the One School, One Book program, Liberty Elementary aims to build a community of readers at the school. Everyone; students, teachers, custodians, and even administrative staff; will participate and can all reap the many benefits.

Liberty Elementary started their campaign for One School, One Book with an all-school field trip to the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend. During this week, clues were shared to help the students figure out the book title. Each student received a personal copy of the chosen book, The One and Only Ivan, at a special school-wide assembly introducing the program.

The assembly included a skit with fourth grade teacher David Mueller dressed as the main character "Ivan the Gorilla" and Principal Christy Jarka dressed as a banana.
