Veterans Honored at St. Mary School in Crown Point

Veterans-Honored-at-St-Mary-School-in-Crown-Point-2017St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point wishes to thank all the veterans who attended the school’s Veterans Day program. State Trooper, Zachary Beaver (Army) gave an inspirational speech to the students and veterans in attendance and showed a slideshow of his military career which included serving in Iraq.

St. Mary’s began honoring veterans with a program eleven years ago. The school hopes that all veterans in the community will plan to attend next year’s program. The date is easy to remember, it’s always the Friday after the school’s famous Spaghetti Supper at 9:00 AM.

After the program that also included a prayer and speeches from St. Mary’s Student Council Officers and songs from the band, those in attendance were invited to have cake, coffee, and conversation in the school cafeteria, Hammes Hall. The veterans in attendance felt the love and appreciate from the students and staff of St. Mary’s School.
